LEGO minifig

It's been a while since I last updated (oops...), but lately I've been busy with work, out of town for holidays and ill with a cold, so yeah...

But anyway, here is a sketch I did for a competition currently going on at some LEGO forums I visit.

It is meant to be a Ghostbusters sort of minifig sporting some new items from BrickForge (custom LEGO-compatible item seller).

Done with 2b and 4b pencils.

I almost forgot to update!
Here is what I've been working on these past few days:

This is a rough concept for a monster I'm making. I don't usually scan these, but ah well.

And the next one is actually pixel art.
I needed a new avatar, so I made myself this:

26 colours and done in Cosmigo ProMotion (recommended tool for pixelling!)
I didn't pay much attention to colour conservation but each colour was used as much as I could (or needed).

As the title says.
I wasn't really content with the version I posted earlier, so I made a new version with a few changes.

And as usual, it was done with 2b and 4b pencils on brown paper.

C64 - Natsu no Omoide

Sven, a very good friend of mine has been telling me to do some pixel art using the C64 restrictions for years. So for once and for all, I went with it and gave it a try.
Here are the results:

I pixelled things that reminded me of a Japanese summer... and even though you won't likely find a kabutomushi flying freely during the day, I added it for kicks!

This was pixelled with C64's MCol (Multicolor) mode, and its restrictions, if I remember correctly are: 3 colours + 1 general BG colour per 8x8 pixels, using the C64 palette and wide pixels, on a 320x200 pixels canvas.

Eventually, I will likely pixel more things using said restrictions, as it was fun.

A somewhat personal rendition of a female version of Astro Boy... or whatever.

I need to become one with the pencil and sketch looser... I'm still rusty!
But I had fun making curves and all.

I can't really think of a way to make an introductory post, so I'll just go straight to the point.

During my free time I'm a real slacker.
So in order to change that, I've decided to start this blog and challenge myself to update it with drawings, sketches and other artsy things at least once a week.

Besides that, I will probably post random stuff I stumble upon, thoughts and whatnot.

But that's all for now, as I still have to meddle with the template of the blog and make some graphics for it.
